Who AM I ?

Hello there, my name is Suzy, I’m a French entrepreneur and I specialise in the translation of English into French, as well as the creation of authentic and inspiring content in French.

I work alongside businesses, both big and small, on their projects and help them achieve their marketing objectives by providing translation, transcreation, copywriting and revision services.

Reading, writing and telling stories have always been real passions of mine: from writing French essays in school, to advertising campaigns for major prêt-à-porter brands, to various literary contests... all of which offer great opportunities to incite emotion. So it’s no surprise that I found myself drawn to literature and languages, and, after studying English literature and translation in France and Ireland, I undertook professional translation training at the Institut de Traducteurs, Interprètes et Relations internationales in Strasbourg.

Once I had a Master’s under my belt, and following several internships at various translation agencies and at the Council of Europe, I spent several years in sunny Barcelona, where I worked as a project manager for one of the largest translation agencies in the world, TransPerfect. This gave me the opportunity to work with major brands and manage teams of multilingual translators and writers.

I soon felt the urge to strike out on my own, and I decided to set up as a freelance translator. I took advantage of my new freedom to embark on a round-the-world trip, during which time I got to experience the digital nomad lifestyle. After three years of wonderful experiences throughout Asia, Europe and the United States, I returned to the Alsatian capital, where I remain working today as a translator and copywriter.

Why WORK WITH ME ?

« Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. »
As Confucius expressed so succinctly, finding a job that one feels passionate about is priceless. This is why I wanted to bring my love of language together with my other passions : fashion and cosmetics, and wines and spirits.

Fashion and Leatherwork

I am familiar with all the ins and outs of launching a prêt-à-porter brand on the French market or working with the big haute couture fashion houses, as well as fabrics, leathers and everything in between. From Strobel stitching to different types of shirt collar, I can ensure terminological consistency throughout your content while maintaining the energy of your product descriptions, and adapting your brand universe for French clientele and to the latest industry trends.

Perfumes and Cosmetics

My experience in medical translation, and more specifically in dermatology, allows me to not only recreate your brand message, but also to ensure the accuracy of the technical terminology used in relation to your cosmetics. An awareness of the refined art of parfumerie strengthens my resolve to translate both the history and the scents of your essences into French, while staying true to your brand image.

Wines and Spirits

After living in both Ireland and Scotland, I developed a true passion for whisky, which was a gateway to a more general interest in the world of wines and spirits. As a holder of a specialised level 1 diploma from WSET, I combine my work and passion by regularly attending specialised trade shows, visiting distilleries, or even by participating in tasting sessions. My diverse experience and my passion for writing allows me to recreate all the subtleties of a wine or a spirit’s flavours, alongside the unique history and savoir-faire of your business.

And more than just doing a job that I love, I’m also trying to shatter the myth of the solitary translator shut away in their office, by proving that this job can be done by collaborating with and supporting passionate entrepreneurs and marketers as they bring their projects to life. This is why I attach such great importance to communication in my work, because I need to get to know my clients’ business and objectives:

  • Who are you? What type of business do you conduct?
  • What goods or services do you offer?
  • Who is your target customer?
  • Which of my services do you require: translation, transcreation, copywriting or revision?
  • What are your objectives?
